These are some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Redmi 1S. I have collected some questions from fb groups. Users always ask before buying.

So have a nice read.

1. Dual sim working as intended?
Ans: Yes working fine with absolutely no problem. If anyone's dual sim not working then immidiately replace the set or you can try reflashing the stable rom.

2. Any call drop issue?
Ans: No.

3. Free ram?
Ans: 300MB after reboot for non-rooted system, 450-400MB after reboot for rooted system.

4. Any heating issue?
Ans: No heating or very less heating with normal use after the latest update. But yes there will be heating if you play games or do some heavy task or browse internet. It still needs to be fixed and I hope it will be fixed in future.

5. Firmware version when writing this article?
Ans: v33 and 34.

6. Any issue related to Google apps?
Ans: No issue

7. Any performance issue?
Ans: Till now noproblem. If your ram full then I feel some lag.

8. Battery life?
Ans: 1 day withnormal call and Wi-Fi usage. 2 day with minimal usage.

9. Facebook messenger have connectivityissue? It always shows connecting though internet is connected?
Ans: No more issue in v33 it is solved. :)

10. If the screen is off phone does not receive push massage especially inwhatsapp?
Ans: No such problem.

12. Game Performances?
Ans: HD games you can’tplay due to less RAM. You can play normal games like Temple Run, Real Racing 3.

13. Time to recharge battery
Ans: 2 hrs. approx. using AC adapter.

14. Supports MUlti Touch?

Ans: Yes, 10 touch.

15. Touch response?

Ans: Very good.

16. Miui performance with 1GB ram?

Ans: It is average. Actually MIUI runs good in 2GB.

17. Loudness of music/ringtone /voice call?

Ans: Good

18. How much space is given for apps and how much for storage?

Ans:

19. Play store app (Gapps) built-in?

Ans: Yes

20. Move apps to sdcard?

Ans: No. The feature is not available in MIUI V5.

21. Benchmark data?

Ans: I have used many benchmark tools. Following are the results.

22. Gaming Experience?

Ans: Played Real Racing 3. After playing for 30 min. or so the device becomes so hot and the game force close automatically. Then device has to reboot and cool for some time to start playing again.

23. Is sim card used should be Normal Size or micro Sim?

Ans: Normal sim.

24. Is there inbuilt call recording or we have to install any app?
Ans: Yes,Call recording is inbuilt, you can also record fm radio. ${:4_100:}$
25. Will I loose my warrenty if rooted?
Ans: No. You can anytime unroot your device and claim warrenty. Here is rooting and unrooting tutorial.
26. Can I use ext. sdcard as my default storage for game data?
Ans: Yes. Follow this.
27. Stable ROM better or developer ROM.
Ans: There is no developer rom for 1s. There is only stable rom wich is updated monthly or bi-monthly.
28. Is OTG working fine?
Ans: Yes it is working fine. But the storage drive has to be in FAT32 file system by default otherwise you have to use 3rd party apps (stick mount) to mount NTFS file system.

29. What about volume?
Ans: It is cool and clear, not like other chinese phone very loud... It is normal like branded mobiles.

30. Will Redmi 1S be upgradable to Android Kitkat 4.4.2 ???
Ans: Yes it will be upgraded to MIUI V6 Android 4.4.4 Kitkat at the end of this year as declared officially.

31. 1s has gorilla glass?
Ans: No, it is Dragontrail scratch resistant glass.

32. Does it supports 3G video calling?
Ans: No. But you can use skype to do video calling.
