[Redmi Note 4G/LTE] FAQ/ Review with MIUI 5 and MIUI 6

Pros:

Premium look, Solid feel to hand and grip, HD Display, White back cover is wonderful.
The loud speaker at the back feels like the best speaker to listen to music in comparison to Mi 3 and Redmi 1s.
You will have a chance to experience MIUI and its updates :).
MIUI 6 with kitkat feels so smooth and gives the real feel of a new OS.

Cons:

Back cover very slippery though it gives a premium looks and feel to the user.
Opening Back cover is a harder task as there is no space to open it with your nail.
Volume is little bit less in both Speaker and earphone.
It is little bit heavy but not a bad thing as it will give you solid feel.
Loud Speaker is at the back so if u place on the table you might miss a call or message.
The performance score of MIUI 6 is reduced than that of MIUI 5. See the scores below.

FAQ:

1. How is the overall design and looks of the device?
Ans: As you have already seen in Photos and videos on Youtube, The design is superb, pro like. It feels solid to your hand though the back cover is plastic and slippery.

2. Is it heated like Redmi 1s?
Ans: Yes heated but not more that 41 degree after playing game for 30 min.

3. Can we operate it on one hand?
Ans: No you can't. As it is bulky and the back cover is slippery, I will suggest not to operate on single hand.

4. Can we put it in our pant pocket?
Ans: Yes you can. But for a tight jeans u will feel little odd and some part of the phone will be outside of the pocket.

5. Is it too heavy?
Ans: Not too heavy but yes heavier than Mi 3 and Redmi 1s. You can feel significant weight if you pick in one hand Mi 3 and in the otherhand Note.

6. 4G really works?
Ans: I have never used 3G how can I tell if 4G works or not.

Of Course 4G should work. Though not tested by me.

7. What about lollipop update?
Ans: As told by Mr. Hugo lollipop update will come but they have not yet planned for it as the code base is not yet released by Google for developers.But MIUI 6 is released for the device you can enjouy the new looks now.

8. How HD games perform?
Ans: I have played Asphalt 8 the game is very very smooth, absolutely no problem and no heating too.

9. How is the Screen quality?
Ans: Screen quality in comparison to Mi 3 and Redmi 1s it is good. You will not note any significant difference.

10. Sound quality on speaker and earphone?
Ans: The sound quality is very good like Mi 3 and Redmi 1s. The volume of the speaker is also too good. But as the speaker is in the back panel you may sometimes miss some important call due to blocking of sound.

11. Camera quality comparison to Mi 3 and 1s?
Ans: Camera quality is below than Mi 3 and Redmi 1s. I have tested all the 3 cameras @night Mi 3 is the best then Redmi 1s then Note.

12. Battery backup?
Ans: Battery back up is too good. I have played 1 hr asphalt 8 and only 10% battery consumed.

13. How is multitasking?
Ans: I have not faced any issue with multitasking.

14. How the flash works in dark night?
Ans: Night time photography is good but not best like Mi 3 and 1s. Flash is also good for near object. It is OK.

15. How much ram free after reboot?
Ans: You can get a free RAM of 1300MB after a reboot.

16. Does it supports all Indian networks?
Ans: Yes.

17. Standby battery time?
Ans: Minimum 4 Days.

18. Performance difference between mtk and snapdragon chip?
Ans: There is significant performance difference u can feel if you come from a Snapdragon chipset to MTK. Though Note 3G has octa core it can't be compared with a 4 core snapdragon processor.

19. Does it supports otg?
Ans: Yes.

20. About root, recovery, roms etc.?
Ans: There is already method for root and unroot here. Here is the Philz touch CWM recovery. For Roms we have to wait.

21. Any network related issue?
Ans: Not yet faced any issue with network.

22. Any problem with sim functioning?
Ans: There is absolutely no problem.
23. Is the Screen Scratch proof?
Ans: Don't know.

24. Move to sd card option available?
Ans: No. It is not present in MIUI.

25. Can note 4G replace my Mi 3?
Ans: No as Mi 3 has more performance than this. It can never replace Mi 3 in any usage. I will suggest to be with your Mi 3.

26. WSM Tools working?
Ans: Yes it is working fine in MIUI 6 but some functinality of Mi tools will not work as it was built for MIUI 5. You can use Greenify and other things with WSM Tools.
