[ADVANCED TUTORIAL] PROJECT YOUR MI3 SCREEN TO TV (WIRELESSLY)

This guide makes a simple start for projecting your photos, movies etc. to TV from your MI3..


I have used an Sony Bravia KLV-32W670A TV for this experiment.

In this guide I have not included the TV side setup as it is different from different TV. So refer your TV manual for setup wireless display.

(I will keep on updating this thread when I will get more knowledge or you may help me improving this guide.)



Requirement:- 

- Your TV must have support for screen Mirroring or wireless display support.
- Your mobile device must have support for wireless display.
- Both device must be compatible.

Goal:

  • Project your photos to TV.
  • Project videos to TV. (not yet able to do it)
  • Project Youtube to TV.
  • Project games to TV. (not yet able to do it)
  • Project all screens to TV. (not yet able to do it)

- Before projecting from mobile to TV, you need to connect to TV using various methods wirelessly.

  • Connect to TV using WiFi access point

- Go to Settings -> WLAN -> Enable WiFi -> You can see the TV access point name.

 

  • Connect to TV using WLAN Direct

- In Wlan -> Press option -> WLAN Direct -> Invite -> In TV accept the request.

  
   
  • Connect to TV using WPS

- In Wlan -> Advanced Settings



  • Connect to TV using WLAN Display

- Settings -> More

  

1. Projecting photos to TV:

- Open Gallary. 
- Open any photo. 
- Then you can see the project option if an wireless display is available.

 

2. Projecting local videos to TV:

- Open Video app.
- Open any video.
- You can see the project option.
- In my TV local videos projecting not working. It is showing me an error "Not connected to server". Please confirm me if its working on other TV.



3. Projecting Youtube videos to TV:

- Open Youtube app.
- Play a video.
- You can see the projection option.

 

4. Projecting Games to TV:

- Not yet able to do it. Please let me know if anyone succeed. 

5. Projecting all screens to TV:

- Using my HP laptop I can easily project my whole laptop screen to TV,
- But not yet able to do it using MI3. Please let me know if anyone succeed.
